Welcoming Lunar New Year 2026, The Year of the Horse

The Lunar New Year 2026 began with energy, color, and celebration as Stone Mountain Park hosted its official Opening Ceremony to welcome the Year of the Horse. Families, friends, and visitors gathered in anticipation, ready to mark the beginning of a new year filled with hope and momentum.

From the very first drumbeat, the atmosphere was electric. The powerful rhythm of traditional drumming echoed through the park, signaling the start of the festivities. Lion and dragon dancers moved with strength and precision, captivating the crowd and symbolically ushering in prosperity and good fortune. The vibrant parade and dazzling light displays set the tone for the weekends of celebration that followed.

The Opening Ceremony was more than a performance. It was a moment of unity. Children watched in awe as cultural traditions unfolded before them. Families stood together beneath glowing lanterns, reflecting on the meaning of renewal and new beginnings.

This year, we celebrate the Year of the Horse, a symbol of determination, resilience, and forward movement. The Horse represents strength in motion, courage to pursue dreams, and the endurance to overcome challenges. It is a fitting symbol for a new year that invites us to move boldly toward our goals.

Lunar New Year is a time to honor heritage while embracing the future. The Opening Ceremony at Stone Mountain beautifully captured that spirit, blending tradition, community, and celebration into one unforgettable experience.

As the drums quieted and the lanterns continued to glow, one message remained clear. A new year has begun. The journey forward is ours to embrace.

🐎 Wishing everyone a prosperous and energetic Year of the Horse! 🐎

Special thanks to the performers, organizers, volunteers, and guests who made this Opening Ceremony a meaningful and inspiring start to the Lunar New Year.
