Supported by Sheriff Craig Owens and Lt. Colonel Clifford Kelker, this initiative was spearheaded by Tanni Gibson, a licensed financial professional, educator, and volunteer at the foundation. The program aimed to equip officers, staff, and their families with essential financial skills.
Volunteer financial educators, including Gary Yip, Thess Peters, Ting Chiu, Mayumi Cole, and Tanni Gibson, led workshops covering budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management. Participants received certificates of completion, and many reported positive outcomes, including improved credit card management and progress towards savings goals.
By bringing financial literacy to the Sheriff's Department, the Awesome Team Foundation is not only empowering individuals, but also contributing to a stronger and more financially stable community. This initiative serves as a model for other organizations and demonstrates the importance of investing in the financial well-being of employees.
