The Jimmy Carter Financial Center recently hosted its Grand Expansion event, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Held on September 21, 2024, at 3805 Crestwood Parkway NW, Duluth, GA, the event drew an impressive crowd of approximately 500 attendees, some traveling from various states to be part of this vibrant gathering. The Awesometeam Foundation, known for supporting JCFC as a partner and source of amazing financial educators, contributed to this memorable event.
A Day of Cultural Richness and Financial Education
The venue buzzed with energy and excitement, beautifully decorated to reflect the diverse cultures represented. Each area was themed after different countries, providing attendees with a global experience right in Georgia. The decorations were not only thematic but also exemplary in their detail and authenticity.
Culinary Delights and Diverse Performances
The culinary offerings were a major highlight, with dishes that were simply "to die for." Guests enjoyed a sumptuous spread representing countries like the Philippines, Jamaica, Cameroon, China, Vietnam, Laos, Taiwan, and Black America. Each dish offered a taste of the diverse cultures that enrich our community.
The event also featured an array of performances that captivated everyone present. The talent showcased included step dance by the Southern Pearls of Atlanta, belly dancing, Lao Dance and Music by Phayanak Dance Crew, and the spectacular Lion Dance. The diversity and talent of the performers brought a joyful energy that resonated throughout the venue.
Financial Literacy Workshops
In addition to cultural celebrations, the event placed a strong emphasis on financial literacy. Various workshops were conducted, providing valuable knowledge and tools to help attendees navigate their financial journeys.
